Leader of One

This week I announced that I've joined forces with Peter Twist and his brand, Twist Performance & Wellness - And that I'm now accepting new clients at their flagship training facility in North Vancouver.  (You can learn more about, and book appointments with me at either of my locations here)

In my short time here so far, I've become really excited to be a part of such a positive, motivating and inspiring culture and I feel ecstatic that my personal and professional values are being echoed in everything that the Twist brand represents.  It's a forward-thinking, client-centered, community-based approach to changing the world - And I love it here already.

The Twist family talks the walk and walks the talk through a great motto that they're highlighting this month called "Leader of One":

A leader of one, a leader of many; if you can't lead one, you can't lead any.

To be a Leader of One, to me, means changing the world, not from the top down, but from a grassroots level.  Every interaction we have we another human being is an opportunity to make their world a better place - Every. Freaking. Day.  If we go about our day with the intention of making others' lives easier, or better, it snowballs - They feel just a bit more energetic; they are a little bit more productive at whatever it is that they do; their next interaction with someone else is more positive and more effective, and cumulatively, we eventually effect change in a bigger way.  It's an upward spiral - It's like compounded interest in positive energy and productivity.

I've always said that I do what I do, and I have passion for what I do because I believe that by helping each of my clients individually, one at a time, that each of them is empowered to maximize their potential.  Instead of being overwhelmed at the idea of changing the world all at once, I believe it's each of our responsibilities to change the world - for one person at a time.

So my challenge to you is this:  The very next person you see today - Make their life better in the tiniest of ways, then step back, and watch the butterfly effect take flight, and then share with me on social media with the hashtag #LeaderOfOne - Don't forget to tag me and Twist Performance!
